Bankruptcy Attorney Fees

The cost of a bankruptcy should not be a mystery, especially to someone who is contemplating making such an important financial decision. During your free consultation, we will review the details of your particular situation and provide you with a written engagement letter. While we cannot give you a final quote until we have reviewed your particular circumstances, below is a general summary of what fees and costs you can expect if you decide to file bankruptcy.

Chapter 7

Bankruptcy Attorney Fees

Our fees for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing generally range from $1,300 to $1,800, with most cases on the low end of that range. These fees include attorney Sherri Johnson's personal attendance with you at your Meeting of Creditors. We generally ask clients to pay an initial fee of $400 to retain us, and the remainder may be paid in installments, as long as all fees are paid prior to filing.

Chapter 13

Bankruptcy Attorney Fees

In a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case, half of your fees may be paid after we file the bankruptcy case, out of the payments you make to the Trustee. Thus, while our total fees generally range from $3,600 to $4,500, the amount that must be paid prior to the filing of the case is generally similar to the fees for a Chapter 7 case. As with Chapter 7 cases, these fees include Ms. Johnson's personal attendance with you at your Meeting of Creditors.
